I was born in Epsom (Surrey, England) in 1972 and brought up in both Italy and England, making me fluent in both languages and cultures. I hold a degree in Business Administration, have worked for business advisory and media companies in Italy and abroad for almost fifteen years and have been translating technical documents since 2004. I am a certified English translator and interpreter at the Court of Rome and have an in depth understanding of the translating profession. I am “old school” and use no type of computer or machine assisted software. I am fair, accurate and punctual and enjoy working with people who share these same values. Among my interests: travelling, photography, theatre and writing.
fluent, persuasive and elegant speaking or writing.
Summary translations
This service is offered for long documents that do not require an integral translation. Summary translations may be more or less long (ranging from 10% to 50% of the original text), and be presented in an agreed format. The shorter the summary the higher the rate per word, but you will nonetheless save money compared to a full translation.
“Ad hoc” document drafting in Italian
Sometimes, rather than translating documents that are written and “conceived” in English, it might prove more useful to draft a new document in Italian. This service falls somewhere between a written translation and an interpreting service and requires that we collaborate closely in order to get it right. It is a service that might prove particularly useful when English has to be adapted to the Italian customs, culture and “way of thinking” (e.g. advertising copy, personal letters, curriculums, etc.).
Negotiation interpretation
I provide consecutive and whispered (chuchotage) interpretation services, especially for commercial negotiations.
I have translated in excess of 9 million words of technical documentation, mainly for energy (oil and gas and renewable energy sources), transportation (road, rail and maritime) and civil engineering companies. I also carry out a lot of work for individuals (especially academic certificates, transcripts, registry certificates and other personal documents). I cannot disclose the names of my clients here, but I am more than willing to provide references for specific industry sectors or document types.
The price of a translation depends on document format (e.g. Word®, Excel®, Powerpoint®, PDF®, etc.), required turnaround time and the length of the text. Taking all these variables into account my rates for a non-court sworn translation will range between 0.10 and 0.15 Euro cents per translated word.
For court-sworn translations, summary translations, redrafting of documents and interpreting services quotes will be provided on a case-by-case basis.
